Student Scientific Society functioning in the Department allows those interested to develop their knowledge in the field of family medicine and helps them to make their dreams about first research and scientific publications come true. If your dream is to familiarise yourself more fully with the practical side of family medicine, conduct your own research, present your paper on a scientific conference or seeing your name in a scientific magazine – come and join us. Papers prepared by the Society were presented at a European family medicine conferences many times. In 2009 we have presented 11 posters, 4 oral presentation and a workshop on WONCA Europe 2009 Conference in Basel. Moreover, we prepared our own student scientific conference International Conference of Medical Students and Junior Doctors on Family Medicine, which 3rd issue was held in 2009 in Lodz more>> and the next one will be combined with 5 th Baltic Sea Region Conference in Vilnius, Lithuania, from14-16 May, 2010 more>>

The scope of scientific research to be conducted during 2007/2008 academic year:

•  the reasons for lipid lowering treatment discontinuation

•  the reasons for conflicts between family doctors and their patients

•  management of pharyngitis by general practitioners

•  patient satisfaction in general practice and hospital settings

•  overuse of hypnotic drugs etc.

During XVII Congress of Family Medicine, that took place May 25-28, 2017 in Krakow, the students of our Scientific Circle (Dawid Tyrna and Paulina Lis, both at the photo) presented the work titled: “Do we know what we are using. A few words about homeopathy.

We have been active at WONCA Europe 2009 in Basel.
