We are proud to announce that the work of Prof. Przemysław Kardas, “Can AI Transform Chronic Disease Management in Older Adults Living in the Community? Insights from the COPD-ALERT Project,” has been honored with the Promising Research Award at the 26th World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA) Asia Pacific Regional Conference (WONCA APR 2025) in Busan, South Korea.

The COPD-ALERT project is an innovative initiative integrating medication adherence and real-world data to predict COPD exacerbations using artificial intelligence. The work highlights the importance of real-world validation and patient-centered design in advancing AI applications in chronic disease management.

We sincerely thank WONCA APR 2025 for this recognition, which motivates us to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation in family medicine.
